Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Jaguars RB James Robinson (heel) didn't practice on Wednesday. He reportedly avoided a serious injury but is at least in danger of missing Sunday's game vs. the Bills. That'd leave RB Carlos Hyde in a feature role -- albeit in a brutal matchup.
Jaguars RB James Robinson "escaped serious injury" and is considered "day to day" with a foot injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Robinson's status for Sunday's game vs. the Bills is "in question," per Schefter, but it at least sounds like he avoided a long-term injury. We'll monitor his practice participation this week. Carlos Hyde will operate as Jacksonville's lead back if Robinson misses time.
Jaguars HC Urban Meyer said after Sunday's loss to Seattle that RB James Robinson is dealing with a bruised heel. The injury was originally announced as an ankle. Meyer didn't have any other details on Robinson's status, but we should learn more tomorrow.
Jaguars RB James Robinson suffered an ankle injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. Seattle and is officially questionable to return. We'll pass along an update when we get one. RB Carlos Hyde is Robinson's backup.
Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans after missing Week 4. Hyde isn’t a fantasy option but figures to steal a few touches from RB James Robinson.
Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) put in a full practice on Wednesday. He was a late scratch for last Thursday night's game vs. the Bengals after showing up to the stadium with shoulder pain. But Hyde is on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Titans. That puts a slight dent in RB James Robinson's outlook.
Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde is a healthy scratch for tonight's game vs. the Bengals. It's a surprise considering Hyde played 31% of Jacksonville's offensive snaps and totaled 19 carries and 4 targets over the first 3 games. Dare Ogunbowale will serve as the Jaguars' #2 RB tonight, but RB James Robinson should be in for an expanded role.
Update: ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports that Hyde's shoulder "didn't feel right" when he got to the stadium.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jaguars RB Travis Etienne will have surgery to repair a Lisfranc tear in his left foot and "likely" miss the entire season. That obviously delivers a big boost to James Robinson, who had been coming off the board well into RB3 range. It also brings Carlos Hyde into late-round view in fantasy football drafts. Robinson now looks like a RB2 with RB1 upside -- which he showed last year -- for fantasy.
Update: The Jaguars have put Etienne on IR, officially ending his season. A player must be on the 53-man roster as of 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 to be eligible for short-term IR.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jaguars RB Travis Etienne suffered a mid-foot sprain in his left foot Monday night and is "out indefinitely." ESPN's Stephania Bell adds that recovery time for the injury can vary widely, so there's more to learn about the specifics of Etienne's situation. For now, the rookie should drop into the double-digit rounds of fantasy football drafts. James Robinson, meanwhile, becomes a solid-to-good RB3 with upside well into RB2 range. We'll see how much his ADP spikes this week. Carlos Hyde also becomes a late-draft consideration.
As expected, Jaguars RB James Robinson (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Bears. His absence leaves Jacksonville's backfield to Devine Ozigbo and Dare Ogunbowale. Neither is a bankable fantasy play.
