TreVeyon Henderson Scores Three TDs As Workhorse
Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson racked up 93 total yards and three TDs in Thursday night's win over the Jets. The first score was his most impressive run of the night. Henderson cut on a dime to make a defender miss in the backfield, spun around a second defender, and then plowed into the end zone with the help of some teammates for the seven-yard TD. He had another seven-yard score -- this one perfectly blocked -- in the second quarter. Henderson's caught his third TD on a corner route from the backfield in the third quarter. He got workhorse usage in this one, playing 90% of New England's offensive snaps, handling 19 of 22 RB carries, and drawing five targets on a 14.7% share. Henderson didn't bust off any big plays vs. the Jets, with a long run of nine yards and a long reception of 10. But he consistently picked up positive yardage and had more rushing yards after contact (70) than total rushing yards (62), per Next Gen Stats. Henderson also forced a career-best nine missed tackles.
