Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson racked up 93 total yards and three TDs in Thursday night's win over the Jets. The first score was his most impressive run of the night. Henderson cut on a dime to make a defender miss in the backfield, spun around a second defender, and then plowed into the end zone with the help of some teammates for the seven-yard TD. He had another seven-yard score -- this one perfectly blocked -- in the second quarter. Henderson's caught his third TD on a corner route from the backfield in the third quarter. He got workhorse usage in this one, playing 90% of New England's offensive snaps, handling 19 of 22 RB carries, and drawing five targets on a 14.7% share. Henderson didn't bust off any big plays vs. the Jets, with a long run of nine yards and a long reception of 10. But he consistently picked up positive yardage and had more rushing yards after contact (70) than total rushing yards (62), per Next Gen Stats. Henderson also forced a career-best nine missed tackles.
What They're Saying
QB Drake Maye on Henderson after the game:"I think it was a big time for him stepping up, and it's been great for him to get all these reps, to keep getting these reps. He wants to be great."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Fantasy managers who rode out Henderson's disappointing first half of the season have been rewarded with huge production the past two weeks. The rookie has totaled 243 yards and five TDs over that span, finishing RB4 in PPR points in Week 10 with a good shot at leading the position in scoring in Week 11.
The big question now is what happens to Henderson's role when RB Rhamondre Stevenson gets back in the lineup. Stevenson was limited in practice leading up to the Jets game, putting him on track for a Week 12 return.
Stevenson played well ahead of Henderson over the first eight games of the season, tallying 83 carries and 19 targets to Henderson's 53 carries and 18 targets.
It'd be malpractice for the Patriots to go back to that arrangement after how well Henderson has played these last two weeks -- especially considering Stevenson is averaging just 3.4 yards per carry this season.
That said, we do expect Stevenson to remain involved in the offense, at least on early downs and potentially near the goal line.
The key for Henderson might be hanging on to the pass-catching role. His pass protection has been much better in recent weeks, based on our eyeballs and the Pro Football Focus grades. That was seemingly what was keeping him off the field in those situations earlier in the season. With that cleaned up, we'd expect him to remain the primary passing-down back going forward.
If Henderson can keep pass-catching duties and even get half of New England's RB carries, he'll be a comfortable weekly fantasy starter with upside into RB1 range.
He'll be helped by the league's easiest RB schedule from Weeks 12 through 17. Henderson has a Week 14 bye, but four of his remaining five games through Week 17 come against bottom-six RB defenses. The other is a rematch with the Jets.
