“Devy” stands for “Developmental."

In a regular dynasty league, drafted players start scoring points as soon as the season begins. In a devy league, you draft college players and then watch their development until they hit the pros.

And you don't need to be a professional scout or spend all your free time watching tape to succeed at devy.

Devy Rankings Help Your Dynasty Play, Too

The main difference between devy formats and more standard dynasty setups is simply getting to know -- and rostering -- the players earlier.

If you play in a devy league that has already drafted, then you can use these rankings to assign value to players on your roster and others. Consider making trade offers to chase some higher-ranked players.

Even if you don’t play devy, these rankings can help you get familiar with upcoming classes ahead of your dynasty rookie drafts.

Improve Your Position in Future Rookie Drafts

For example, 2027 looks bereft of RB talent. So you'll find 2027 RBs lower than usual in these rankings. And you shouldn't plan on landing a cornerstone RB in your rookie draft for that year.

WR, on the other hand, looks very strong  in 2027.

Devy Rankings Are About Draft Capital

Before we hop into our devy rankings, let's talk about the goal of devy.

You aren't necessarily trying to get the best talents (though it helps). 

Getting players who will go high in the NFL Draft should be the primary goal.

Don't like a player but an NFL team is willing to take him in on Day 1 or 2 of the NFL Draft? Then you want them in devy.

You can always trade players later to maximize your value and get the talents YOU want.

2024 Devy Rankings

1. Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State (2027)

Smith came into college football at 18-years old and instantly became the best WR in the country. He caught a TD in seven straight games and had 10 TDs just in the regular season alone. Expect Smith to be on a Julio Jones level as an NFL prospect. He is worth giving up the farm to get.

2. Ryan Williams, WR, Alabama (2027)

Jeremiah Smith's incredible rookie season overshadowed the work by true freshman Williams. He was able to crack the Crimson Tide receiving room and led the team as a receiver. His speed and fluidity are already NFL ready.

3. Arch Manning, QB, Texas (2026)

The nephew of Peyton and Eli, Arch finally gets his chance to be the starting QB for Texas this season. He has already flashed his rushing ability and has shown potential elite passing talent in games so far. With a bevy of weapons this season, he could become the #1 overall pick.

4. DJ Lagway, QB, Florida (2027)

Lagway has the ability to take Florida to another level this year. He was a solid true freshman starter and offers rushing upside. A potential solid passer with some rushing for the NFL.

5. Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame (2026)

Love has emerged as one of the best RBs in college football helping to carry the Notre Dame offense to the National Championship. He has good size with elite burst, especially in the Outside Zone. Potential first round NFL Draft pick.

6. LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina (2026)

Sellers has Lamar Jackson type rushing ability but is still pretty raw as a passer. This is a home run swing if Sellers can develop as he could be a fantasy gamebreaker.

7. Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn State (2026)

Singleton surprisingly went back to school, but he has improved every season at Penn State. Another year as a starter with elite physical tools, Singleton has a high floor and high ceiling as a potential NFL back.

8. Nico Iamaleava, QB, Tennessee (2026)

Iamaleava had an up and down first year starting, but he has flashed elite passing potential. With great pocket movement to boot, Iamaleava could be the top 2026 QB.

9. Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State (2026)

Tate took a backseat to Jeremiah Smith, but he flashed good route running and hands this season. He should fill the Emeka Egbuka role this season and has a chance to take off. His physical tools should secure him a top-50 NFL Draft spot. 

10. TJ Moore, WR, Clemson (2027)

Moore was third on Clemson in receiving, but he is by far the most physically gifted of their wideouts. He could emerge to become the top of the group with experience and be an impactful NFL player.

11. Cam Coleman, WR, Auburn (2027)

Coleman was a top recruit in the 2024 class and was dominant toward the end of the season against Texas A&M and Alabama. A clearly talented athlete who should keep growing.

12. Evan Stewart, WR, Oregon (2025)

Stewart has had an up and down career, but the deep threat dominated Ohio State and can get behind any defense. His speed is intriguing as he enters another year in the Troy Franklin role for the Ducks.

13. Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU (2026)

Nussmeier flashed an NFL arm and processing in his first year starting at LSU. Going back to school was the right call and if he continues developing, becoming a first round pick is very possible.

14. Dakorien Moore, WR, Oregon (2028)

The top recruit of the 2025 class, DK Moore has stud level potential. Heading to Oregon in a pass friendly system that will take advantage of his skillset means he should turn into a future first round pick.

15. Nate Frazier, RB, Georgia (2027)

Frazier was so good as a true freshman that he beat out Trevor Etienne. A violent runner between the tackles, Frazier could be a three-down RB.

16. Drew Allar, QB, Penn State (2026)

Penn State seems scared to let Allar throw them to victory, but part of that may be their lack of WRs this past season. Allar flashes a big arm and pocket movement, though he is inconsistent. Another QB with first round potential.

17. Ryan Wingo, WR, Texas (2027)

Wingo was buried a bit on the depth chart, but he looked sharp as a true freshman. With Arch Manning becoming the QB and both Texas starters heading to the NFL, this is the year Wingo will shine.

18. Justice Haynes, RB, Michigan (2026)

Haynes showed his talent at Alabama was didn't fit the new system. Now at Michigan, Haynes will be the grinder he was meant to be.

19. CJ Baxter, RB, Texas (2026)

Baxter's ACL injury put a damper on his potential NFL outlook, but he is a great talent both rushing and receiving. If he gets healthy, he should be the starter once again.

20. Jaden Greathouse, WR, Notre Dame (2026)

Greathouse is severely underrated. A big WR who can go downfield and make contested catches, he has Day 2 NFL potential.
