Luther Burden Should Return For Training Camp

Bears WR Luther Burden III hasn’t practiced since rookie minicamp in early May due to a soft tissue injury. However, HC Ben Johnson said this week that Burden's on track to suit up for the start of training camp.

Bears HC Ben Johnson said he's been "extremely impressed" with WR Rome Odunze's offseason. "To be a second-year guy, you would expect a little bit more inconsistency. And, yet, the way he approaches the meeting room, the walkthroughs, the on-field, the drill work, it’s very much like a seasoned pro," Johnson said. "Some of the best that I’ve been around. ... He’s still learning. I think we’re gonna see a lot of growth from him — not just in the springtime, but once we get to camp.”

Bears HC Ben Johnson sounded very excited about rookie WR Luther Burden in the team's post-draft press conference. "Stud," Johnson said of Burden. "He’s a playmaker waiting to happen. ... For 6 foot and 200+ pounds, it’s rare to see someone with his movement skills. He can stop on a dime and accelerate just like that. Give him a little bit of space, and he can make big things happen. A dangerous player and weapon. ... I see big things in his future."
