RB Raheem Mostert is signing a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Raiders, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Mostert was cut by the Dolphins in February after averaging a career-low 3.3 yards per carry last season.
Mostert lands in what's currently a wide-open backfield in Las Vegas alongside Zamir White, Sincere McCormick, and Dylan Laube. But the Raiders are a virtual lock to add to the depth chart in next month's draft. They're even a candidate to take RB Ashton Jeanty with the sixth overall pick.
Mostert probably isn't a lock to make the final roster and is a poor bet to play a big role for Vegas. He'll turn 33 in April and ranked 34th among 51 qualifying RBs in Pro Football Focus rushing grade last year.
We'll adjust our thinking if the Raiders don't make a significant addition to the backfield in the draft. But, for now, Mostert isn't a recommended pick in best ball drafts.
