Fred Warner Suffers Season-Ending Injury

Niners LB Fred Warner fractured and dislocated his right ankle in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, HC Kyle Shanahan announced after the game. He'll have surgery and miss the rest of the season.

LB Tatum Bethune wound up leading the team with 10 tackles in Warner's absence and looks like the new starter next to Dee Winters. We might also see third-round rookie Nick Martin enter the mix, though he has yet to be active for a game.

Losing Warner is a brutal blow to a San Francisco defense that already lost Edge Nick Bosa for the season. The team D entered Sunday as a weak fantasy play and shouldn't be in your plans going forward.

We'll see about Warner's outlook for 2026 in the offseason.
