Ravens TE Mark Andrews was on the receiving end of the first two of QB Lamar Jackson's four TDs in Thursday night's win over the Dolphins. Andrews found a hole in Miami's defense in the back of the end zone to haul in a two-yard score on fourth-and-goal in the first quarter. Then he took advantage of two Miami defenders running into each other to work open for a 20-yard TD in the second quarter. Those were Andrews' only two catches of the night, with his third and final target falling incomplete in the second quarter.
The fantasy production was nice in this one. But the two catches and three targets are worrisome for Andrews' outlook going forward.
It's worth noting that the Ravens ran only 56 plays and threw just 23 passes in this easy 28-6 win. But Andrews' three targets ranked fourth on the team and were a 13% share.
He did run more routes than TE Isaiah Likely for the first time in three games, although Andrews' 63% route rate was still underwhelming. He's at a 63% route rate in five games with Likely vs. 74% in three games without.
Andrews' target share has climbed from 13.2% over those first three games to 17.4% over the last five. But he's topped three targets in just two of those last five.
Andrews ultimately remains a heavily TD-dependent fantasy play. The good news is that there will be lots of TDs in Baltimore the rest of the way as long as Jackson stays healthy. The Ravens have the second-easiest remaining QB schedule and the easiest remaining TE schedule. That includes five straight games against bottom-nine TE defenses from Week 13 through 17.
Andrews figures to have a few duds the rest of the way, but he'll boast enough weekly TD upside to be in the low-end TE1 mix.
