Broncos LB Alex Singleton revealed to teammates Monday that he had surgery Friday to remove a cancerous testicular tumor. It's not yet clear how much time he'll miss, but he says the outlook is good. Singleton said the diagnosis came within the past couple of weeks after the NFL's random drug-testing program detected elevated levels of the hormone hcG. A follow-up with a urologist found the cancerous growth.
What They're Saying
Singleton: "Thankfully, we believe the cancer was caught early with a great prognosis for me and my family. While we are still awaiting some additional test results, I fully expect to return to the field in the coming weeks."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
"In the coming weeks" points to Singleton at least missing this Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Denver then gets a Week 12 bye before a Sunday night visit to Washington in Week 13.
Dre Greenlaw and Justin Strnad figure to serve as Denver's top two LBs for as long as Singleton's out.
Greenlaw passed Strnad in snaps for the first time this season last week, his third game back from an offseason quad injury (with a one-game suspension mixed in). But Greenlaw still played just 62% of the snaps in that win over the Raiders.
I'm going to project his Week 11 playing time close to 100% as the likely lead LB, but that'll remain a guess unless coaches reveal the specific plan.
Strnad dipped to just 10% playing time last week after a then-season-low 42.5% snap share the week before. He has played 67% of the snaps or more six times this season, though, filling in as the No. 2 LB while Greenlaw worked back.
Kansas City has been the sixth-worst matchup for LB scoring this season by our adjusted fantasy points allowed.
