Jaguars WR Travis Hunter will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair the LCL in his knee, according to multiple reports. There was no additional damage to the knee, and Hunter is expected to resume football activities in six months, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Dynasty Impact
This injury came just as Hunter was starting to get rolling. He posted an 8-101-1 receiving line in his final game, and there was reason to believe his role on offense was going to expand coming off the bye week.
Instead, Hunter's rookie season ends as a relative disappointment. He topped 42 receiving yards in just two of seven games and scored just one TD. Hunter's 1.32 yards per route currently ranks 53rd among 70 qualifying WRs.
But there were certainly flashes of the skill set that made Hunter the second overall pick on the draft. He showcased impressive after-catch juice on multiple occasions and made a few strong downfield grabs on limited opportunities.
Jacksonville still needs to figure out the optimal way to deploy Hunter's dual-threat ability. But he's a strong dynasty hold -- and maybe a buy for non-contending teams.
Hunter's timeline should have him back on the field by May -- and likely at or near 100% by the time training camp kicks off.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Hunter's surgery should leave Parker Washington as Jacksonville's primary slot receiver the rest of the way. He'll be flanked by Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr., when he's ready to return from his ankle injury.
Washington has averaged 8.7 targets over his last three games and posted nice fantasy scores. But it's worth noting that he's caught just 58% of those targets and averaged 11.7 yards per catch.
Washington could be a useful WR3 for the remainder of the season, but don't treat him as more than that.
