The Patriots are placing DL Milton Williams on IR after he suffered a high ankle sprain in Thursday night's win over the Jets. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Williams "should be back in 4-6 weeks."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Williams' absence looks like a bigger hit for the pass rush than the run defense. Williams ranks third among Patriots in total pressures for the season, according to Pro Football Focus. He's also worked on the second-worst run grade of his career, ahead of only last season's mark.
The return timeline plus New England's Week 14 bye means Williams won't return until Week 17 at the earliest. The 6-week outage would mean he doesn't play until the playoffs.
DT Khyiris Tonga -- a 335-pounder -- got season-high playing time (54%) in Williams' departure Thursday night.
DT Cory Durden got the biggest boost, though, jumping to 60% snap share after setting his previous high at 43.5% the week before.
Neither offers much IDP appeal.
We'll see whether Williams' loss damages the team-defense value, but the Patriots still look plenty playable vs. the Bengals and Giants the next two weeks.
