Teammate Tyler Lockett had small success as well, recording 4 catches for 54 yards in the primetime contest. Rookie wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba notably tied Lockett for a team-leading 6 targets in the game, though his opportunities only manifested into 3 catches for 5 yards. For as frustrating as the first-year WR has been, it’s worth remembering that he’s only a few weeks removed from surgery for a wrist fracture. Perhaps he’ll have more success following the team’s bye week in Week 5.
