The Raiders expect WR Tre Tucker to "take a big leap as their starting slot," per The Athletic's Tashan Reed. A third-round pick in 2023, Tucker managed just 19 catches, 331 yards, and 2 TDs as a rookie. At 5'9 and 185 pounds, Tucker brings exciting speed (4.40 forty time; 1.48 ten-yard split). This offseason, the Raiders added Brock Bowers to an offense that already includes Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. Bowers is expected to see a good chunk of his snaps out of the slot.
“Tre Tucker is a different dude,” HC Antonio Pierce said at OTAs. “He looks different, acts different, runs different, catches the ball different. Don’t look at the size; don’t mention that. Watch him play. He’s the biggest guy out there. He had a hell of an offseason: came back right after the offseason program, the Super Bowl, and got in here and started working and was here every day.”
Tucker’s poised to beat his rookie-year snap share (31.9%). But can he enter the fantasy radar in Vegas?
That’s a tough argument to make – especially if Adams, Meyers, and Bowers stay healthy.
Last year, Raiders QBs combined for only 32.4 passes per game alongside fill-in HC Antonio Pierce. His offseason quotes have only further solidified a commitment to the run. Plus, a QB room of Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell remains shaky.
Just note: If you’re in a league that counts return yards, Tucker should gain value. Vegas’ 2023 return man – DeAndre Carter – departed in free agency. He handled 97.2% of the total returns.
In college, Tucker totaled 67 kick returns at a 24.9-yard average -- plus 2 scores.
