Packers QB Jordan Love will not hit the field in training camp without a new contract. Love inked a one-year extension through 2024 last offseason but is looking for a raise after a breakout 2023 campaign. GM Brian Gutekunst believes the two sides are close to an agreement.
"I feel we're close, but no real timetables as far as how long it's going to take," Gutekunst said of the contract negotiations with Love. "We're working really hard to get that done. I think it's really important for us. At the same time, the thing that I have confidence in is that we both want the same thing. We want Jordan here for a long time, give him that stability for him, and it gives us some stability for our group as well. … I'm optimistic. These are big deals. It takes time. They're not as easy as some people may think."
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo believes "it shouldn't take very long" for this deal to get done.
