A source tells Cardinals insider Kyle Odegard that QB Kyler Murray is "fully healthy" heading into the 2024 season. Murray returned for the final eight games of 2023 after his December 2022 ACL tear. He's now about 19 months removed from surgery on that knee.
What They're Saying
“Last year you didn’t see the cutting or the shake-and-bake,” the source told Odegard. “Expect to see it again moving forward.”
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Despite returning from that knee injury, Murray averaged 30.5 rushing yards per game on 5.6 yards per carry last year. Those marks were down slightly from his averages over his first four seasons: 38.7 yards per game and 5.8 yards per carry. But Murray still ranked top six among QBs from Week 10 on in all of these categories:
- Carries
- Rushing yards
- Rushing TDs
- Red-zone carries
- Carries inside the 5-yard line
It's also worth noting that Murray went from 26.5 rushing yards per game in four outings before his Week 14 bye to 34.5 rushing yards per game in four outings post-bye.
It's fair to expect more rushing production this year than last. And, of course, Murray's passing ceiling was raised with the addition of first-round rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Add it all up and Murray looks like a top-12 fantasy QB with upside into the top six.
