Patriots Dump JuJu Smith-Schuster

JuJu Smith-Schuster Headshot

The Patriots are releasing WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, according to NFL Network. He was entering the second season of a three-year, $25.5 million deal signed last offseason.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Smith-Schuster was a disaster for the Patriots last year, catching 29 of 47 targets for 260 yards and one TDs in 11 appearances. His 1.06 yards per route run ranked 76th among 93 qualifying WRs.

JuJu is still only 27 and one season removed from a 78-933-3 line with the Chiefs, so we're not completely burying him just yet. But consider him a long shot to re-emerge as a fantasy factor in 2024 or beyond. We'll see where he lands next.

Other Winners & Losers

Smith-Schuster was never likely to play a big role for New England this season, but his release can't be bad news for young WRs Ja'Lynn Polk, Demario Douglas, and Javon Baker.
