49ers RB Christian McCaffrey looked "spry" running, cutting, and catching passes off to the side of Thursday's practice, according to The Mercury News' Cam Inman. It's the first time we've heard of McCaffrey running and cutting since his August 4 calf injury.
HC Kyle Shanahan said on August 6 that McCaffrey's injury was not a long-term situation, and this is nice confirmation. He still has a little more than three weeks until the season opener.
McCaffrey remains a "High Risk" RB, according to our Injury Predictor. But this specific calf injury shouldn't be a factor this season.
