Jets TE Tyler Conklin is “poised for a big season,” per NFL insider Connor Hughes. Conklin tallied a career-best 621 yards in 2023.
Here’s Connor Hughes on the veteran TE: “I’ve written this before: Tyler Conklin is poised for a big season. He’s the player [Aaron] Rodgers targets whenever a play breaks down or he needs something quick. Conklin is a very reliable option over the middle and Rodgers likes exploiting that area of the field when defenses are keying in on Hall (off a play action) or Wilson (wherever he lines up).”
Conklin’s routinely come up as an offseason standout – even dating back to OTAs.
The Jets offense supplies a wide range of outcomes. Front and center is Aaron Rodgers’ age and questionable level of play. Plus, how will the remade O-line perform?
Conklin, at least, looks like a reliable player alongside Garrett Wilson. The former Viking hasn’t missed a game since 2019. And he’s tallied exactly 87 targets in three straight seasons.
Go back to 2022 – Rodgers’ last full season – and you’ll see Packers TEs combined for 96 targets (17.7%). It’s a reachable ceiling for Conklin, depending on how guys like Mike Williams (coming off an ACL tear) and rookie Malachi Corley perform.
Conklin is ultimately one player who can provide fantasy football help at the TE position. Just don't count on him for weekly TE1 production.
