Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase remained in street clothes for Monday's practice. He's practiced just once since camp opened as he angles for a new contract. Cincinnati's season opener vs. the Patriots is six days away.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Chase is going to need to get on the field soon if he's going to play Week 1.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported over the weekend that contract negotiations were intensifying. We're still expecting this deal to eventually get done. But Chase's status for Week 1 is up in the air right now.

It's reason enough to take guys like Breece Hall, Bijan Robinson, Justin Jefferson, and Amon-Ra St. Brown ahead of Chase in upcoming fantasy drafts. But we wouldn't let Chase fall further than that.
