QB Jayden Daniels struggled in the red zone in Sunday's game vs. the Giants. K Austin Seibert nailed seven FGs to get Washington the win, but Daniels finished without a TD. He played well enough otherwise. The rookie completed 23 of 29 passes (79%) for 226 yards (7.8 YPA) and no INTs, adding 44 more yards on 10 carries. The Giants clearly made it a point to limit Daniels' rushing after his huge Week 1. They kept him bottled up for the most part -- but Daniels still posted a nice rushing total thanks to four runs of 9+ yards.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Despite finishing without a TD, Daniels tallied 13.4 fantasy points (ESPN scoring). Not bad for what felt like a floor performance.
This offense still has work to do. There's not enough downfield passing. And the Giants were able to contain the designed QBs runs in this one.
But Daniels has been efficient as a passer, completing 75.7% of his passes at 7.7 yards per attempt. And he's been as advertised as a runner, racking up 132 yards and two TDs through two games. That's a full-season pace of 1,122 rushing yards.
Continue to trot out Daniels as a QB1 in upcoming matchups vs. the Bengals and Cardinals. That's followed by a pair of tough draws against the Browns and Ravens -- but Daniels' rushing ability will likely keep him inside our top-12 QBs those weeks.
