Saints RB Alvin Kamara scored four times in a 44-19 victory over the Cowboys on Sunday. He delivered 115 yards and 3 TDs on 20 carries and added a 57-yard catch-and-run TD as part of a 2-65-1 receiving line.
What They're Saying
Former NFL TE Shannon Sharpe: "Kamara has the best balance I've ever seen on a RB and I've seen a lot of them in my lifetime. He's INCREDIBLE"
Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football: "Alvin Kamara isn't washed up. He isn't old. That man is in his prime."
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Kamara has racked up 290 total yards and 5 TDs through two weeks. And just as noteworthy as his production has been New Orleans' offensive performance.
Delivering 47 points against the Panthers was one thing. Carolina looks like it might still be the worst team in the league.
Hanging 44 on the Cowboys in Dallas? That was impressive.
The apparent increased strength of the offense as well as RB Kendre Miller struggling to get healthy appear to have rejuvenated Kamara.
It is still worth noting that the age-29 season has not historically been kind to RB production, according to our aging-curve research. We're early in this season and will watch for any concerning signals from Kamara.
For now, though, he's a must-start in an offense that should be changing everyone's thinking vs. preseason expectations.
Dynasty Impact
The big difference with dynasty, of course, is that you need to balance winning now with long-term success. With that in mind, it's worth at least considering shopping Kamara amid the Saints' hot streak.
His value might be peaking off a 4-TD game and two straight weeks of New Orleans scoring 44+.
I certainly wouldn't say you need to shop the vet. Winning this season is worth plenty, even if Kamara winds up losing all market value ahead of next year.
But if you're deep at RB or dealing with an otherwise shaky roster, Kamara might bring a haul.
Other Winners & Losers
Miller has been a clear loser for his injury issues that had HC Dennis Allen calling him out publicly this summer.
Kamara's early performance also won't help Jamaal Williams' touch counts. Williams rushed eight times to Kamara's 20 in the lopsided Week 2 victory.
The offense's early strength is at least increasing the rushing volume overall.
