Tyler Allgeier Gets More Involved; Bijan Robinson Still Productive

By Matt Schauf | Updated on Tue, Sep 17 2024 11:25 AM UTC
        Bijan Robinson Headshot

Tyler Allgeier got 9 carries to Bijan Robinson's 14 in Monday night's win over the Eagles. His 10 touches (including a reception on his only target) vs. Robinson's 18 marked a big difference from Week 1. Robinson got the ball 23 times to Allgeier's three against the Steelers. Robinson proved efficient on his Week 2 touches, rushing for 97 yards (6.9 per carry) and catching four of his 5 targets for 25 yards (6.3 per catch). Allgeier produced as well: 9-53 rushing (5.9 per carry) and 12 yards on his lone catch.

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Allgeier's snap share was nearly identical in Week 2: 21% compared with 18% in the opener. His opportunity share changed dramatically, though: from 6.4% in Week 1 to 17.5% against the Eagles.

We should probably expect Allgeier's work share to remain closer to his Week 2 level than Week 1, especially given how effective both players were against Philly.

The Week 2 shift doesn't alter the fantasy outlook for Robinson, though there are bound to be weeks where Allgeier vultures a TD.

Ultimately, the Falcons' improved offensive performance of Week 2 likely matters more than Allgeier's touch count.

Robinson's superior receiving skills should play especially well in challenging matchups with the Chiefs and Saints the next two weeks.

        Other Winners & Losers

Allgeier will struggle to present standalone value in most fantasy formats but could be a bye-week fill-in option if he continues to get this level of work share.
