X-Rays Clean On Justin Herbert's Ankle

Justin Herbert Headshot

X-rays on Chargers QB Justin Herbert's ankle came back clean, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He'll continue to be monitored this week," Rapoport adds.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Herbert was a game-time decision for the Week 3 game against the Steelers. He made it 36 snaps before aggravating his ankle injury and getting pulled. HC Jim Harbaugh said afterward that he planned to get Herbert out of the game if he saw any limping.

We'll keep tabs on Herbert's progress this week, but he'll be at risk of leaving early again on Sunday against the Chiefs. He shouldn't be in your Week 4 fantasy plans.

QB Taylor Heinicke replaced Herbert in Pittsburgh and would likely get the start vs. the Chiefs if Herbert is held out. Heinicke is a fine NFL backup but wouldn't be a Week 4 fantasy option.

The Chargers will continue to be a run-heavy offense regardless of who's under center this weekend.
