Steelers QB Justin Fields accounted for all three offensive TDs in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Colts. He led the team with 55 yards on 10 carries and scored twice on the ground, from 5 and 2 yards out. Fields also threw for a season-high 312 yards and another score, finding TE Pat Freiermuth from 8 yards out late in the fourth quarter.
What They're Saying
Mike Tomlin, on Fields' play vs. the Colts: "I appreciate his fight. But he and we were a little bit sloppy at times, too sloppy to comfortably secure victory."
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Fields went without an INT for the third time in four games, but he did fumble twice (losing one).
The fumbles plus losing to the Colts surely mean this Fields performance won't curry as much favor with Steelers coaches as it will with fantasy managers.
But from here, it sure looks like Fields has played well enough through the team's 3-1 start to merit keeping the job until/unless he screws it up.
We haven't gotten a healthy week of practice from Russell Wilson yet to see how the Steelers will treat the QB question, though. We'll see what happens ahead of a Week 5 home date with the Cowboys.
If Fields does remain in the lineup, you should expect to find him among the top 12 Week 5 QBs for a matchup with Dallas. The Cowboys just endured injuries to their top 2 edge players in Thursday night's win over the Giants.
