Falcons TE Kyle Pitts set season highs across the board in the Thursday night win over the Bucs with eight targets, seven catches, and 88 yards. QB Kirk Cousins found Pitts wide open up the seam for a 32-yarder on the second play of the game. Pitts had a nice 18-yard catch and run in the second quarter. His other five grabs went for 10 yards or fewer.

Pitts certainly benefitted from the Falcons running 81 plays and throwing 59 passes in this one. His eight targets ranked just fourth on the team and were 13.6% of Atlanta's total. That was up just slightly from his 12.6% share over the first four games of the season.
Pitts did rebound to an 84% route rate, though. That was up from his 67% route rate last week and was his second-highest mark of the season.
The other good news for Pitts is that QB Kirk Cousins is looking better and better every week. And the Falcons are passing more. After calling pass on just 54% of their plays over the first three weeks, Atlanta has registered 71% and 78% pass rates the last two.
If Pitts' route rate stays in the 80% range, he should at least produce as a lower-end TE1 going forward. Not what you were hoping for when you drafted him -- but at least he's not Mark Andrews!
