Tyrone Tracy Shows He Should Keep Getting Touches

Giants rookie RB Tyrone Tracy took advantage of his opportunity Sunday against the Seahawks. With starter Devin Singletary out, Tracy dominated backfield playing time. He handled 82% of the team's RB carries and ran five more pass routes than No. 2 RB Eric Gray. Tracy racked up 129 yards on 18 carries. That included runs of 27, 25, and 13 yards. He added 1 reception for a yard among 2 targets.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Gray actually drew the first RB touch for the Giants, tallying two catches and a pair of carries on the first offensive drive. That possession ended with Gray fumbling at the goal line, allowing Seattle a 102-yard TD return.

Gray would touch it just three more times the rest of the way. Tracy wound up playing 45 snaps to Gray's 26.

It's tough to know if that playing-time split would have been closer if Gray hadn't fumbled early. But Tracy had easily led him in playing time through the first four weeks.

It was a bit surprising to see Tracy cede so much passing-down work to Gray, given that Tracy converted from WR midway through college. We'll see whether he can develop further in that area.

Singletary didn't seem far from playing time week and appears likely to return for a Week 6 game against the Bengals.

But the Giants should look to continue getting the speedy rookie touches even after the starter's back.

Waiver Wire Targets

Tracy's at least worth adding in 12-team leagues where available this week.
