Browns QB Deshaun Watson was less terrible than previous weeks in Sunday's loss to the Eagles but continued his run of lackluster production. He went a solid 16-of-23 passing (69.6% completions) at 7.3 yards per pass attempt. But his 168 passing yards marked a sixth straight game south of 200. And he boosted another struggling opponent pass rush.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Watson did avoid fumbling for just the second time this season. But he took 5 sacks from a Philadelphia defense that had just 6 for the year entering the week.
Taking sacks doesn't cost Watson fantasy points in most leagues. But he now combines that issue -- which he has always had -- with a near-total lack of passing upside and only modest rushing upside.
That all makes Watson a poor bet for fantasy production the rest of the way. And his performance is holding back Cleveland pass-catchers.
