Davante Adams Getting His Wish

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Raiders are finalizing a deal to send WR Davante Adams to the Jets for a conditional draft pick that could become a second-rounder at peak.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

The Jets have been the consensus favorite since the first report of Adams' trade wishes. The move obviously reunites him with QB Aaron Rodgers, who played with the WR in Green Bay from 2014 through 2021.

Adams joins a Jets offense that has sent 30% of targets to WR Garrett Wilson so far. Expect that to come down, though it's too early to project who will get a larger share between them.

Allen Lazard has been the only other WR to see 20+ targets. Expect his share to come down as well, but Lazard appears well set up to settle in as the No. 3 WR. Mike Williams -- who has struggled through six games -- figures to drop to fourth on the depth chart (barring a trade out of town).

Adams and Wilson limit each others' ceilings, but there's room for both to help fantasy lineups going forward. If both can perform as top-20 fantasy WRs, it would boost Rodgers' fantasy production.

Other Winners & Losers

The QB obviously gains considerable upside with this move. But Rodgers has been just the QB21 in fantasy points per game. He'll need to deliver to prove he can be a needle-mover. We're not betting he climbs above QB2 territory.

TE Tyler Conklin should remain the inconsistent asset he's been to this point. He might not have the 8-9 target weekly ceiling that he reach two of the past three weeks. But having Wilson and Adams on the outside also figures to create space in the middle of the field.

The WR boost can also only help the Jets' running game, which got a strong performance from Breece Hall on Monday night.

Jakobi Meyers stands as the No. 1 WR in Vegas now, but rookie TE Brock Bowers looks like the best bet to lead the team in targets the rest of the way.

WR Tre Tucker has a decent shot to stay fantasy relevant but will probably linger in WR4 territory in our weekly rankings.

We'll continue assessing that offense, which just had QB Aidan O'Connell start for the first time this season.

Rankings Movement

This is about as big a move as you could imagine for player values on both sides. Check our updated rest-of-season rankings to see where everyone settles.

And, of course, your Team Intel and Free Agent Finder will give you the best results for how to value all players involved in your specific format.
