Giants rookie TE Theo Johnson played 52 of the 58 offensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, compared with 15 snaps combined for fellow TEs Chris Manhertz and Daniel Bellinger. Yet it was Bellinger drawing the only target among them for the game.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Johnson has maintained strong playing time throughout his first season. He played 86% of the snaps back in Week 1 and 90% in Week 7.
Half of his 16 targets for the year so far, though, came in the two games WR Malik Nabers missed (weeks 5 and 6). Four other targets came in Week 1, when Nabers drew a season-low 7 targets.
Johnson's other four games have included just 4 total targets.
He'll have a tough time finding fantasy relevance as long as both Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson are operating as target sponges.
But the strong playing time bodes well for Johnson's longer-term future.
Dynasty Impact
His elite athleticism -- second-best RAS score ever among Combine TEs -- makes Johnson worth some dynasty price checks.
The more impatient -- or closer to a championship -- the Johnson manager in your league might be, the better.
