The Chiefs lost WR Rashee Rice to a knee injury early in their Week 3 win over the Chargers. Since then, No. 2 TE Noah Gray has seen his route and target shares increase.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Gray has drawn 10 targets over the past three games, 10.5% of QB Patrick Mahomes' total attempts over that span. That doubles his 5 total targets from the season's first three games (5.4%).

Gray didn't immediately see growth in his routes in that game Rice left, though he did set season highs in targets and receptions that game with four of each.

The past two games, however, have seen the TE climb to 47.4% route participation vs. 36.2% over the first four games. He matched the 4 targets and 4 catches against the 49ers on Sunday, and produced a career-high 66 yards.

A 47% route share and 10.5% target share won't be enough to make Gray relevant across fantasy formats, even with Mahomes as his QB.

But Gray could help some lineups in the coming weeks, especially with four-team byes in Week 10 and Week 11, and then six teams on bye in Week 12.
