Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's loss at Atlanta, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero: "No decision yet on whether to place Dak on injured reserve. But it’s worse than expected and it will be a bit."
That IR is in the discussion means you should plan this week for Prescott to miss at least the next three games. That span includes negative scoring matchups with the Eagles and Commanders.
Barring a trade for a QB this week, that should mean Cooper Rush for at least the next few games.
Rush last played a multi-week role in 2022, after an early-season thumb injury for Prescott. He averaged 191.2 passing yards and 1.0 TDs across five starts then.
It's obviously a downgrade for WR CeeDee Lamb, though the wideout is dealing with his own shoulder injury from the Atlanta game.
TE Jake Ferguson could be in for a target bump if Lamb misses any time.
WR Brandin Cooks is eligible to come off IR for Week 10 but needs to prove he can be relevant regardless of QB. He totaled 91 receiving yards across the season's first four games, including just one week of 20+.
No word yet on whether Jerry Jones still believes in this group.
