Texans S Jalen Pitre will have surgery to repair a partial pectoral tear and miss the rest of the season, according to multiple reports.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Pitre suffered the injury in Week 12 and missed the following game. He and the team hoped he could avoid surgery and possibly return, but second opinions over the bye week clearly confirmed the need for surgery.

Pitre will now miss the final four weeks of the regular season (and almost certainly any playoff games as well).

His absence should keep DB Eric Murray in the lineup as a full-timer going forward, starting at safety next to Calen Bullock.

Jimmie Ward looks like the primary slot CB going forward. That's been Pitre's primary position this seaason.
