Spencer Rattler Not Good vs. Packers

Saints rookie QB Spencer Rattler managed just 15-of-30 passing for 153 yards (5.1 per attempt), 0 TDs, and 1 INT in Monday night's shutout loss to the Packers. He also took 3 sacks and lost a fumble.

Rattler looked even worse than those meager numbers suggest.

RB Jordan Mims was the only Saint to catch more than two passes. Mims (8), WR Dante Pettis (7), and WR Kevin Austin (4) led in targets, with WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling inactive.

That provides a decent snapshot, at least, of how weak Rattler's surrounding cast is.

Rattler did rush for 28 yards on 5 attempts to lead a poor ground game.

We'll see whether New Orleans sticks with Rattler for Week 17, but it hardly matters.

The Monday night crew mentioned during the game that QB Derek Carr is still trying to get back on the field before this season ends. He's still dealing with pain in his broken left hand, though.
