        Myles Garrett Requests Trade

Browns Edge Myles Garrett has officially requested that the team trade him. According to multiple reports, though, Browns GM Andrew Berry has maintained that he's not interested in moving Garrett.

        What They're Saying

Garrett, via public statement: "While I've loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won't allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns."

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

It's obviously big news for the Browns' best player -- arguably since he arrived in 2017 -- to formalize this request.

The potential move, though, probably won't impact Garrett's fantasy outlook much. He has delivered 14+ sacks in four straight seasons and 10+ sacks every year since 2018, his second in the league. That included a low of 10 sacks in just 10 games in 2019.

Garrett tallied a league-leading and career-high 22 tackles for loss last season. So there's been no significant signal of decline.

And that production has come with a range of surrounding talent and varied team success.

He'll upgrade any defense that adds him. And Garrett's departure will undoubtedly hurt the Cleveland defense.

Fortunately for the Browns, this year's rookie class looks strong at edge. So there's potential for a first-round pick -- either their existing at No. 2 overall or a pick that might come back in trade -- to bolster the position.

        Dynasty Impact

A trade similarly shouldn't alter Garrett's longer-term outlook much. His age obviously matters more.

That said, Garrett just turned 29 in late December. So if you count 2025 as his age-29 campaign, we're talking about a year that has historically seen D-linemen deliver 97% of their peak fantasy production on average.

Our aging-curve data says they've followed that with 90% at age 30 and then 82% at age 31.

Garrett has dealt with foot issues in recent seasons but has also played 16+ games each of the past four years.

His age makes him a tradeable dynasty asset if you get a good return. But it's also OK to just squeeze out as much production as you can get.
