The Browns and Edge Myles Garrett have agreed a monster extension that includes $123.5 million in guarantees and a $40 million annual average, according to multiple sources. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Garrett's deal also includes a no-trade clause and ties him to the Browns through 2030. The annual average tops Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby and makes Garrett the league's highest-paid non-QB. It also comes about five weeks after Garrett asked the team to trade him.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
This will officially be Garrett's age-30 season, but he won't actually hit that age until Dec. 29. That means Garrett will turn 35 at the end of the final season on his new, extended contract.
There's obviously some risk in committing to so many post-30 seasons. But Garrett has showed now signs of decline. He has played 16+ games in four straight seasons and delivered 14+ sacks in each of those.
I see no reason to expect a depleted version of Garrett this fall.
Dynasty Impact
His proximity to 30 still makes Garrett a potential dynasty sell over the next couple of years. The Browns obviously believe he'll stay plenty productive for a while still ... but they've also given us plenty of reason to question their scouting.
That said, I also expect Garrett to remain plenty productive over at least the next two seasons. So feel free to continue enjoying that production.
