The Seahawks have agreed to a three-year, $33 million deal with LB Ernest Jones IV. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Jones gets $15 million guaranteed. Jones got traded from the Rams to the Titans and then Tennessee to Seattle last season. He played full-time snaps at every stop and finished the season among the top 20 fantasy LBs (depending on your format).
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Jones cracked the top 12 in fantasy points per game the year before, delivering 4.5 sacks and 6 passes defensed. Both numbers ranked among the top 11 non-edge LBs.
Jones dipped in both sack production and pass-rush chances last season. He went from rushing the passer on 14.3% of defensive snaps in 2023 to 9.0% last year. Even that lower rate, though, still found him ranking 15th among all non-edge LBs in pass rushes.
Jones presents cross-category upside. Staying in Seattle might ding his value some, though, in IDP formats that downplay assisted tackle scoring. Seahawks official scoring tends to go heavy on awarding assists.
(Jones tallied 25 assists and 25 solos solos over his five Seattle home games last year. He has totaled 228 solos to 180 assists otherwise for his career to date.
Dynasty Impact
Jones won't turn 26 until late November, so he should be a solid bet to complete this contract. That makes him a good dynasty play over the next three seasons.
His continued presence still leaves room for LB Tyrice Knight to stick as a full-timer, unless Seattle imports a potential upgrade.
