The Pittsburgh Steelers allegedly have a first-round grade on Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. Steelers Beat Reporter Gerry Dulac told the Rich Eisen Show that the Steelers have that grade on Dart, but also like Shedeur Sanders. He did not rule out the possibility of the team taking a DL instead of a QB however.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “I will tell you Rich that they have a first-round grade on Jaxson Dart, and they really like Shedeur Sanders. Despite whatever post was put out there that he had a terrible meeting [and] it did not go well. Nothing could be further from the truth. They like the guy. They had a great meeting with him.”
As Aaron Rodgers waits in limbo, Steeler WRs D.K. Metcalf and George Pickens have been left without a QB - unless you count Mason Rudolph.
If the team were to sign Rodgers or invest a first round pick in the position, it should boost the fantasy potential for those two along with TE Pat Freiermuth (and even RB Jaylen Warren).
Dart or Sanders would provide this boost.
The Steelers make for a difficult analysis for a potential young QB.
They certainly have talented skill players after trading for D.K. Metcalf, but are saddled with OC Arthur Smith who has traditionally wasted talent.
It may be good for immediate production from Dart or Sanders, but going to another situation like the Rams likely provides a better long-term outlook.
