        Eagles Scoop Jihaad Campbell Late

The Eagles moved up one spot in the first round of the NFL Draft and selected LB Jihaad Campbell. The former Alabama LB spent the past year and a half starting, spending time both in coverage and as a pass rusher. Campbell proved efficient as a rusher this past season, generating 20 pressures among just 99 pass-rushing reps, according to Pro Football Focus. He brings a 93rd-percentile score and solid size at 6'3, 235.

        What They're Saying

DS prospect guru Shane Hallam: "That speed translates on film. He's fast. He closes very quickly. He does have that blitzing ability. Alabama really struggled in second-level pass coverage, and Campbell was one of the best for them."

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

This is an excellent pick for the Eagles. It's potentially tough for Campbell's IDP outlook -- especially in 2025.

Philadelphia gave LB Zack Baun a big contract to keep him from leaving in free agency -- the first time in a long time the team paid up for that position.

There's still room for Campbell in the LB2 slot that Nakobe Dean manned last year. Dean tore his left patellar tendon in the playoff win over the Packers and might not be ready for the start of the 2025 season.

Campbell, however, has his own shoulder surgery to recover from. There are reports that he's a candidate to open his rookie season on the physically unable to perform list.

We'll have to watch Campbell through the summer to see if he's worth much IDP attention in the coming season.

        Dynasty Impact

The bigger question is whether Campbell can find enough room next to Baun to deliver regular IDP relevance.

        Yes, he can.

Dean played 82% of Philly's defensive snaps last regular season, despite missing the final two games. He finished the year eighth in fantasy points per game among LBs who started more than one game.

That's enough to keep Campbell's dynasty outlook positive. He'll rank among our top IDP targets for dynasty rookie drafts.
