Mellott was a college QB who threw for 2,759 yards and 31 TDs this past season, but also ran for 1,050 yards and 15 TDs. He had a 9.68 Relative Athletic Score at WR with a 41" Vertical and 4.39 40 time at 5'11 and 200 pounds. Mellott's athleticism makes him a prime candidate for the position switch to be an offensive weapon for the Raiders.
Mellott offers a ton of upside as a gadget player who can throw, run and catch the football.
He actually has great decision making as a QB, but the arm strength isn't there for consistent usage at the position.
If he can develop as a wide receiver to catch the football, Mellott's athleticism will give him a ton of upside.
In terms of dynasty, he would be a fun player to put on a taxi squad, especially with the thin WR group for the Las Vegas Raiders.
But, there are more experienced WRs with more upside worth taking, so Mellott is best to just keep on the watch list.
If he pops in camp or has positive buzz, then snatch up Mellott for the end of your roster.
