Week 16 FanDuel Cash-Game Picks

By Kevin English | Updated on Mon, 11 Mar 2024 . 4:22 PM EDT

Top Plays for Head-to-Head and 50/50 Contests

Quarterback

Geno Smith, Seahawks ($6,600) at Titans

HC Pete Carroll announced Smith as the starter on Tuesday. That’ll put him back in the lineup for the first time since Week 13.

The Titans matchup looks just fine, especially with some potential absences in the secondary (CB Sean Murphy-Bunting, S Amani Hooker, and S K'Von Wallace). Stud DL Jeffery Simmons is also in danger of missing another week.

Recall that Smith went off for 334-3-1 at Dallas prior to his groin injury.

Also consider: Justin Fields

Running Back

Rachaad White, Buccaneers ($7,700) vs. Jaguars

White’s price continues to increase at a much slower pace than it should. He’s unsurprisingly our top RB $/point value against a Jacksonville unit slotted 27th in FanDuel points allowed.

The 24-year-old has delivered 18+ FD points (and 23+ touches) in three straight.

Ty Chandler, Vikings ($6,900) vs. Lions

HC Kevin O’Connell announced Chandler as the go-to back on Wednesday. That much was clear last week vs. Cincinnati, when Chandler handled a career-high 26 touches.

We’ll see about the status of Alexander Mattison (ankle), but he missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Current projections have Chandler for nearly 20 touches.

Also consider: Tony Pollard, Aaron Jones, Zach Charbonnet (if Kenneth Walker sits)

Wide Receiver

D.J. Moore, Bears ($8,200) vs. Cardinals

Arizona’s secondary has struggled to find a productive combination all season. Only one member of their secondary sits top 100 in Pro Football Focus’ coverage grades. The Cardinals rank 28th in team coverage grade.

Moore looks poised to take advantage. He has hit 8+ targets in five straight, with three outings of 17+ FD points over that span.

DeAndre Hopkins, Titans ($7,100) vs. Seahawks

Hopkins sits tied for third in targets over the past three weeks. He’s also tied for the league lead in end-zone targets over that stretch (5).

Ryan Tannehill looks like Tennessee’s Week 16 starter, but we’re not calling him a downgrade on Will Levis. Tannehill fed Hopkins nearly 9 targets per game in their five full appearances together.

Dontayvion Wicks, Packers ($5,400) at Panthers

Over the past month, only Kansas City ranks higher than Green Bay in pass rate over expected.

The pass-happy approach – and missed games from Christian Watson – has helped Wicks average 50 yards over his past six. That stretch also includes impressive marks in yards per route run (2.85) and yards after catch per reception (8.1).

Watson and Jayden Reed look questionable for Sunday’s game, raising the ceiling on Wicks’ targets.

Also consider: D.K. Metcalf, Chris Godwin, Amari Cooper, Josh Downs (if Michael Pittman sits)

Tight End

Jake Ferguson, Cowboys ($6,000) at Dolphins

The Dolphins have allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to TEs over the past five weeks, but note who they've faced:

  • Tyler Conklin
  • Chig Okonkwo
  • Logan Thomas
  • Tyler Conklin
  • Michael Mayer

I’ll lean into the broader game environment here, which turns up a high over/under (50) and a solid implied team total (24.5).

Dallas remains a pass-leaning offense, sitting sixth in pass rate over expected over the last four weeks and sixth on the season.

Also consider: Trey McBride

Defense

Seahawks ($3,500) at Titans

Also consider: Browns
