Week 3 FanDuel Cash-Game Picks
Top Plays for Head-to-Head and 50/50 Contests
Quarterback
Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars ($7,600) vs. Texans
I’m not overreacting to Lawrence’s Week 2 dud vs. Kansas City, one accentuated by several key drops.
Even with the blemish, he ranks second in Pro Football Focus passing grade. He's first in big-time throw rate, which measures a QB’s ability to make difficult throws.
The matchup improves this week against a Texans squad set to play without top CB Derek Stingley and S Jalen Pitre.
Also consider: Lamar Jackson
Running Back
Tony Pollard, Cowboys ($9,400) at Cardinals
Pollard entered Week 3 tied for the league lead in touches. As a bonus: He leads all ball carriers in red-zone and goal-line carries (16 and 12, respectively).
Sunday turns up a perfect scoring matchup at Arizona. Dallas is implied for nearly 28 points.
Joshua Kelley, Chargers ($6,100) at Vikings
I fell into this trap last week, overlooking Tennessee’s strong run D.
But here’s the good news: Kelley’s price remains highly affordable, especially with Austin Ekeler set to sit for another week.
Plus, he remained the clear lead back against the Titans, handling 13 of 18 team RB carries.
Now he gets a Vikings run D that’s 21st in FD points allowed over the first two weeks.
It’s no surprise that Kelley – plus the next guy on this list – holds a top-2 spot in our FD dollars-per-point rankings.
Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs ($5,700) vs. Bears
We’ll keep an eye on Pacheco’s injury status, as he’s currently battling a hamstring bruise. Indications are it’s minor, though, as he practiced on Thursday and Friday.
Kansas City’s implied total sits at 30.25 points – high even for a Patrick Mahomes-led offense. The team reportedly plans to give Pacheco a larger workload.
Also consider: Bijan Robinson, Raheem Mostert, Gus Edwards
Wide Receiver
Calvin Ridley, Jaguars ($7,500) vs. Texans
I mentioned the plus matchup with Houston above. But Ridley’s role could further solidify if Zay Jones (knee) misses Sunday’s game.
Through two weeks, Jones has garnered a 17.8% target share. His loss would also put Christian Kirk ($6,500) in the mix for Week 3 lineups.
Zay Flowers, Ravens ($6,300) vs. Colts
Odell Beckham is out with an ankle injury. Regardless, Flowers is priced right for a favorable matchup vs. Indy.
The Colts entered the season with an unproven secondary, and it has yet to show promise.
They sit 28th in Pro Football Focus coverage grade; 31st in FD points allowed to WRs.
Amari Cooper, Browns ($6,200) vs. Titans
I was leery of Cooper entering last week, given his questionable status (groin).
Yet he played – and he balled out with 7-90 on 10 targets and a 74% snap share. Now facing a Tennessee defense that funnels production to the passing side, Cooper's tough to avoid in cash games.
Also consider: Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, DJ Moore, Jerry Jeudy
Tight End
Taysom Hill, Saints ($5,500) at Packers
Hill led the Saints with 75 rushing yards in Monday’s win over Carolina. He saw 9 carries, a number he hit five times in 2022.
He should be in for a similar workload this week given the Saints’ messy backfield:
Alvin Kamara remains out (suspension).
Jamaal Williams is likely out (hamstring).
Rookie Kendre Miller has battled injuries all offseason and is coming off a hamstring issue.
Perhaps Tony Jones Jr. remains the backfield leader. But Hill should mix in as well, while adding upside as a passer and receiver.
Also consider: Mark Andrews
Defense
New York Jets ($3,900) vs. New England Patriots
Also consider: Miami Dolphins
