Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr. Continue To Improve Rapport

Arizona QB Kyler Murray and WR Marvin Harrison Jr. continue to strengthen their connection, according to Cardinals’ team reporter Zach Gershman.

        What They're Saying

Gershman: “During the practice, Harrison and quarterback Kyler Murray were unable to connect at times, which was the precursor for tight end Trey McBride to have an impressive practice. But the back half of the work showed multiple Murray-Harrison completions, a sign of their growing connection.”

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Murray and Harrison weren’t on the same page at times last year.

And other times? It was as if they weren’t even in the same book.

Too frequently, their connection came down to low-percentage back shoulder throws along the sideline. Harrison lived on the perimeter, as 88 of his 116 targets (75%) came when aligned out wide. Murray, meanwhile, completed just 58.4% of his passes to targets out wide, which ranked 29th among qualified QBs.

Like everyone else, the Cardinals knew they drafted an elite talent in Harrison. But expecting him to do it all on his own, especially as a rookie, was a misstep. There were no schemed touches, no layups, nothing to make Harrison’s job easier in 2024. This offseason, Harrison Jr. has added muscle and is getting on track with Murray. Now it's on OC Drew Petzing and company to put their star WR in better positions to find sustained success.

Heading into 2025, Harrison Jr. is both a prime breakout and bounce back candidate. He currently checks in as the WR19 in our rankings.
