Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Giants' official Week 1 depth chart lists first-round rookie QB Jaxson Dart as the team's primary backup behind Russell Wilson

The 25th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, Dart had a strong preseason, completing 32 of his 47 attempts (68%) for 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

Dart's performance throughout training camp and the preseason vaulted him ahead of Jameis Winston.

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

With New York's staff on notice, Russell Wilson could have a short leash. If Wilson struggles, Dart would be inserted to create a spark. Even if Wilson plays well, the Giants are likely to get Dart some looks, especially if they fall out of contention.
