D.K. Metcalf Saved from a Poor Fantasy Performance By a TD

Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf caught 3 of 4 targets for 32 yards and a TD in the team’s win over the Patriots. The Patriots' No. 1 CB Christian Gonzalez was out for the game, but Metcalf still didn’t dominate. QB Aaron Rodgers only threw the ball 23 times in the victory, limiting receiving opportunities.

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

TDs have propped up Metcalf’s fantasy output over the past two weeks. He only caught three passes for 20 yards against the Seahawks, but did find the end zone.

The Steelers slow pace of play and run heavy offense contributed to lack of targets for Metcalf. They only had 54 snaps with Rodgers attempting 23 passes. Metcalf was on the field for 48 snaps, but only saw the four targets.

Selling Metcalf after the two straight TD games might be the best move. A string of a few scoreless games could be coming, especially with a strong Vikings defense next week in Ireland.
