Buccaneers WR Mike Evans broke his collarbone in Monday night's loss to the Lions, HC Todd Bowles said afterward. Bowles said Evans will miss most of the rest of the regular season. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport notes that the typical timeline for a broken collarbone would have Evans out until early-to-mid December. That's somewhere in the Week 14-16 range. That makes Evans stashable in fantasy leagues with IR spots or very deep benches. But he's droppable in the majority of fantasy leagues.
First things first: Evans' incredible streak of 1,000-yard seasons will end at 11. There have been hints that this could be the 32-year-old's final season. He's set to hit free agency after this year.
Evans' absence leaves a big hole in the Bucs' passing game, especially with WR Chris Godwin still out. Tez Johnson and Sterling Shepard operated as the clear No. 2 and 3 WRs in Monday night's loss to the Lions and will be low-end fantasy options for as long as Godwin remains sidelined.
TE Cade Otton will also continue to play an expanded role in the passing game at least until Godwin returns -- and maybe beyond. He's totaled 15 targets on a 20.5% share over the last two weeks.
