A.J. Dillon Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) is out for Thursday's game vs. the Lions. RB A.J. Dillon (groin) is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. Dillon should be ready to serve as Green Bay's lead ball carrier on Thanksgiving, but you'll need to check back around 11 am ET tomorrow to make sure he's active.

Packers RB Aaron Jones is considered "week-to-week" with an MCL sprain, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Schefters adds that Jones is "unlikely" to play vs. the Lions on Thanksgiving. We'd consider him no better than 50/50 to be ready for Week 13. RB A.J. Dillon will take over as Green Bay's lead ball-carrier in Jones' absence. But Dillon lost passing-down work to RB Patrick Taylor when Jones was sidelined earlier this season.

Packers RB AJ Dillon got pressed into the lead-back role in Sunday's win over the Chargers. And he disappointed once again. Dillon managed just 29 yards on 14 carries (2.1 per rush). That marked his sixth game of 10 with less than 4.0 yards per carry and fourth at less than 2.5. Dillon previously posted lackluster production across a four-game stretch in which Jones missed three games and played a limited role in the other. We'll see about how long Jones is expected to remain out this time. But don't expect big things from Dillon during that time.

Packers RB Aaron Jones suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Chargers. He was in obvious pain on the field and needed help getting out. We'll update his status when we know more, but don't expect Jones to return today. That'll leave A.J. Dillon as Green Bay's lead back.

Update: Jones has been ruled out.

After trailing teammate AJ Dillon in Week 7 usage while working back from his hamstring injury, Packers RB Aaron Jones climbed to basically even in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. His 7 carries led the team, producing 29 yards (4.1 per rush). Jones also tied Dillon at 5 targets. He caught four for 17 yards. Dillon caught all five of his to lead the team in receptions and posted 41 yards. Given the lackluster performance of Dillon overall, Jones should see further increases in his work. Non-scary matchups with the Rams, Steelers, and Chargers await over the next three weeks.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) entered Sunday with questions about his workload. He remained limited in practice this week, so seeing him eased into action against Denver wasn't a surprise. The veteran back saw 8 of 25 team RB carries; 5 of 9 RB targets. AJ Dillon led the way with 15 carries and 2 catches for a season-high 95 total yards. On the bright side: Jones avoided a hamstring setback. He should see his workload rise next week vs. the Vikings, but we'll look for clues ahead of that matchup.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. “He looked pretty good (but) he was limited, so we’ll see how he’s feeling," HC Matt LaFleur said after Friday's practice. It's concerning that Jones is still dealing with hamstring trouble coming off the bye. We'll look for further updates on his status. We won't get Green Bay's inactives until a little before 3 pm ET on Sunday.

Packers RB A.J. Dillon managed to barrel his way to 76 rushing yards with a TD in Week 5’s loss vs. the Raiders. It wasn’t a particularly efficient performance, as it took 20 carries for Dillon to reach these totals, but fantasy managers can’t be too upset with him. We’re still talking double-digit fantasy points here. Still, this Packers’ rushing attack hasn’t been particularly good since RB Aaron Jones went down with a hamstring injury in Week 2. Hopefully, Jones will make it back in time for a primo matchup against the lowly Broncos defense in Week 6.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is officially inactive for tonight's game against the Raiders. He'll get a Week 6 bye to rest up that hamstring. RBs A.J. Dillon, Patrick Taylor, and Emanuel Wilson are active for Green Bay tonight. See our projections for the Packers backfield.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero now reports that Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) will be inactive for tonight's game vs. the Raiders. Green Bay has a Week 6 bye, so Jones will get two full weeks to get that hamstring right. RB A.J. Dillon becomes a slightly better fantasy option tonight with Jones out, but he totaled just 96 scoreless yards in two games without Jones earlier this season. We just updated the Week 5 projections for the Packers backfield.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero tweets that Packers RB Aaron Jones' status for tonight's game vs. the Raiders "remains up in the air" but adds that, "it sounds unlikely he’ll go." Jones returned from his hamstring injury last week but played just 20 snaps. He was limited in practice all this week and is listed as questionable. We'll get Green Bay's inactives around 7 pm ET. Jones' absence would leave the backfield to A.J. Dillon and Patrick Taylor. Dillon bombed in Jones' absence earlier this season and played only 10 more snaps than Taylor in Week 3.

RB Aaron Jones, like the entire Packers offense, struggled to get going in Thursday night's loss to the Lions. Green Bay finished with only 53 plays and 10 RB carries, as they played from multiple scores behind for the final three quarters. Jones garnered five of those carries but could only grind out 18 yards. He was crunched for a four-yard loss on his only reception of the night. Jones wound up getting out-snapped 38 to 20 by backfield mate A.J. Dillon, but that was very likely due to Jones coming back from that hamstring injury and the scoreboard. The good news is that Jones seemingly avoided a setback. Expect him to be back in the lead role in a plus Week 5 matchup vs. the Raiders. It's a good bounce-back opportunity for Jones and the Packers.

Packers RB AJ Dillon got another chance to lead the backfield Sunday, with Aaron Jones (hamstring) inactive. For the second straight week, he failed to take advantage. Dillon gained just 33 yards on 11 carries, trailing QB Jordan Love (39 yards) for the team rushing lead. Dillon also got frozen out of the passing game, watching Patrick Taylor (4) and Emanuel Wilson (1) split the backfield targets. Dillon is droppable in many fantasy football leagues. Check our updated rest-of-season rankings Tuesday, ahead of your league's waiver run.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Saints. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, so a Week 4 return seems likely. A.J. Dillon will again serve as Green Bay’s lead back today after handling 15 carries and one target last week.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. That's not a good start for his chances of returning for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. We'll update Jones' status again tomorrow.

Packers RB A.J. Dillon posted 55 rushing yards on 15 carries in Week 2’s loss vs. the Falcons. He also added a single catch on his lone target for 8 yards. Green Bay was without starter Aaron Jones (hamstring) for this contest. Though Dillon didn’t have a massive scoring output, he seized 76.1% of the Packers’ RB touch opportunities on Sunday. Should Jones miss another game, fantasy managers can feel comfortable knowing that Dillon would likely be treated as a workhorse back again. Keep an eye on injury reports in the coming days to see if we’ll have Jones back for Week 3 vs. the Saints.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Falcons. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 3. A.J. Dillon steps in as Green Bay’s lead back today, with RB Patrick Taylor behind him. Green Bay will also be without LT David Bakhtiari today.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is not expected to play vs. the Falcons today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That's not a surprise after Jones missed practice all week. His absence will leave A.J. Dillon as Green Bay's lead back -- and a volume-based RB2 in fantasy lineups.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) did not practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. The veteran could probably play despite not practicing, but he should be on fantasy benches for now. We'll look for further updates on Jones and will get Green Bay's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. If Jones is inactive, A.J. Dillon will be a volume-based RB2 play.
