Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson was less terrible than previous weeks in Sunday's loss to the Eagles but continued his run of lackluster production. He went a solid 16-of-23 passing (69.6% completions) at 7.3 yards per pass attempt. But his 168 passing yards marked a sixth straight game south of 200. And he boosted another struggling opponent pass rush.
The Bengals fear CB Dax Hill tore his right ACL in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Assuming that's confirmed by testing, it would obviously end Hill's season.
Bengals CB Mike Hilton (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Ravens. Facing a Cincinnati defense without its lead slot corner can only help TEs Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, but we'll see if they get the targets.
Bengals HC Zac Taylor confirmed Monday that Dax Hill will start at CB opposite Cam Taylor-Britt to open the season. That means Hill -- who started 17 games at safety for Cincinnati last year, his second season -- has beaten out DJ Turner II. Mike Hilton remains the team's nickel CB.
The Bengals have placed CB Cam Taylor-Britt (ankle) on IR. That means he'll miss not only tonight's game against the Jaguars -- which Taylor-Britt had already been ruled out for -- but also three more contests. That obviously means you can go ahead and drop Taylor-Britt from your redraft IDP team, if you haven't done so already. D.J. Turner and Chidobe Awuzie led CB playing time for the Bengals in Week 12, with Taylor-Britt out. No. 3 Mike Hilton remained in his usual range. Hilton is the best bet for fantasy production among the trio the rest of the way. He ranks among the top 20 DBs over the past five weeks.
The Bengals have ruled CB Cam Taylor-Britt out for Monday night's game against the Jaguars. He might have been on track to return from the quad injury that cost him Week 12, but he sprained an ankle in practice this week. We'll see about Taylor-Britt's status heading into Week 14.
Bengals LB Logan Wilson left Sunday's loss to the Steelers with a sprained ankle. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports it's merely a "minor" low-ankle injury, though. That's positive news for Wilson's chances of a quick return. We'll watch his status leading up to Monday's visit to Jacksonville.
Bengals LB Germaine Pratt is active for today's game against the Steelers. He missed Friday's practice with an illness that rendered him questionable, but Pratt should be ready for normal IDP usage.
Bengals Edge Sam Hubbard got in his first full practice Friday since spraining the ankle that cost him the past two games. Cincinnati left Hubbard off the final injury report, meaning he's ready for Sunday's game against the Steelers. We'd go ahead and play Hubbard in IDP lineups as though he's full strlength. It's an upside matchup.
Bengals LB Germaine Pratt is questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers because of an illness that kept him out of Friday's practice. Players usually play through practice-week illnesses, but we'll watch for Pratt's status on Sunday. His absence would likely boost the role for No. 3 LB Akeem Davis-Gaither.
The Bengals have ruled CB Cam Taylor-Britt out for Sunday's game against the Steelers. The quad injury that knocked him out late in last Thursday's loss to the Ravens was originally reported to be no big deal. But Taylor-Britt missed this full week of practice. We'll see about his status heading into Week 13 at Jacksonville.
Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt injured his left quad in Thursday night's game against the Ravens and has been ruled out for the game. That doesn't bode well for his Week 12 availability, but we'll watch for more specifics on this injury.
Bengals Edge Trey Hendrickson got in a full practice Wednesday and will play Thursday night against the Ravens. It's a surprising turnaround after he hyperextended his left knee on the final play of Sunday's loss to the Texans. Hendrickson doesn't even appear on the final injury report, so he seems ready for regular usage in IDP lineups. Edge Sam Hubbard (ankle), on the other hand, will miss his second straight game. He has yet to practice since sustaining the injury.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bengals Edge Trey Hendrickson (hyperextended knee) and Edge Sam Hubbard (sprained ankle) are "unlikely" to play Thursday night against the Ravens. Hendrickson suffered his injury at the end of Sunday's loss to the Texans. Hubbard missed that game after sitting out practice all last week. Cincinnati marked both players as not practicing on Monday's report. Cameron Sample started in Hubbard's place against Houston, with Myles Murphy and Joseph Ossai the next two edge guys up. None makes for a good IDP play in most fantasy formats. Lamar Jackson took no sacks and just 1 QB hit in his first meeting with Cincinnati this year, with Hendrickson and Hubbard in the lineup.
Bengals Edge Trey Hendrickson left Sunday's loss to the Texans with a left knee injury after Houston WR Noah Brown fell into it following the game's final offensive play. HC Zac Taylor had no update on Hendrickson's status after the game, so we'll watch for specifics today. But a short turnaround to Thursday night's clash with Baltimore will challenge Hendrickson's chances of playing in Week 11.
The Bengals have ruled Edge Sam Hubbard out for Sunday's game against the Texans. He missed practice all week with an ankle injury, which bodes ill for his ability to make it back for a Thursday night clash with Baltimore in Week 11. We'll watch for any progress toward that one. Cameron Sample looks like the next guy up but is tough to like for IDP purposes. Sample has just 9 total tackles and 3 QB hits on the season.
Bengals Edge Trey Hendrickson returned for a limited practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday with a foot injury. Hendrickson saw a normal workload in the win over San Francisco and doesn't seem to be in danger of missing this week's game against the Bills. But we'll certainly be checking his status in Friday's practice and heading into the game.
Bengals CB Chidobe Awuzie (back) is active for today's game against the Seahawks. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.
Bengals CB Chidobe Awuzie (back) is inactive for today's game against the Cardinals. CB Cam Taylor-Britt (concussion) and Edge Trey Hendrickson (back) are active, after entering the day questionable.
Bengals Edge Trey Hendrickson (back), CB Cam Taylor-Britt (concussion), and CB Chidobe Awuzie (back) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Hendrickson popped up late on the injury report after missing Friday's practice. Awuzie's injury also popped up during the practice week, limiting his Thursday participation and then holding him out Friday. Taylor-Britt looks most likely to play. He finished the week with a full Friday practice.
