Cleveland Browns Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Four Browns defenders who were questionable for today's game against the Cardinals are active. DE Myles Garrett (knee, ankle), DE Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, knee), CB Denzel Ward (neck) and CB Greg Newsome (calf) are ready to go. DE Takk McKinley (ankle, knee) is also playing through a questionable tag.

Browns DE Myles Garrett (knee, ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He was questionable last week for the same issues and played. Garrett finished the week with a limited Friday practice -- an improvement over last week, when he sat out Friday. DE Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, knee) is also questionable. He missed last week's game. CB Denzel Ward (neck) and CB Greg Newsome (calf) are questionable as well. LB Malcolm Smith has been ruled out. We'll update statuses for the questionable defenders come Sunday afternoon. Plan on using Garrett as usual in IDP lineups. You can probably find better options than the risk of waiting on the others.

Browns CB Denzel Ward left Sunday's loss to the Chargers with a neck injury. We'll see about his availability for next Sunday's home date with the Cardinals. Avoiding Ward would enhance the matchup for WR DeAndre Hopkins. Cleveland rookie LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah also suffered a throat contusion against the Chargers and went to a local hospital after the game. We'll see about his status, coming off a season-high 91% playing time.

The Browns list multiple defensive starters as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, however, reports that the team is "expecting most of their defensive nucleus intact." DE Myles Garrett is officially questionable, listed with knee and ankle issues that kept him out of Friday's practice. Garrett said earlier Friday that he expects to play, though. Also questionable are DE Jadeveon Clowney (elbow), CB Denzel Ward (neck) and LB Malcolm Smith (abdomen). Garrett is easily the biggest IDP factor of the group, so his optimism is good news. The late-afternoon Sunday kickoff makes it tougher to wait on any of them, and the other 3 probably aren't worth the wait in most cases. We'll update them all when game inactives come out, though.

Doctors determined Monday morning that Browns S Ronnie Harrison did not actually suffer a concussion in Sunday's win at Minnesota, according to Scott Petrak of the Chronicle-Telegram. Harrison left after just 2 snaps and initially entered the concussion protocol. He should now be ready to begin Week 5 practices on time.

Browns S Ronnie Harrison sustained a concussion in Sunday's win over the Vikings. If he's not ready for the Week 5 visit to the L.A. Chargers, then Grant Delpit would likely get his 1st start.

The Browns are placing MLB Anthony Walker on IR with a hamstring strain. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Walker “should” be back in 3 weeks. Walker was the only full-timer at the position for Cleveland in Week 1. Rookie Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah ranked 2nd among the group in playing time but stayed on the field for just 38% of snaps. We’ll see how things sort out in Walker’s absence. JOK carries the most IDP upside, if he gets primary playing time

Browns S Ronnie Harrison got ejected in the 1st quarter of Sunday's opener against the Chiefs. He stepped on a K.C. player who was on the ground and then hit a Chiefs coach in the chest. (The 2nd move was likely what got him booted.) We'll see whether Harrison faces any further missed time.

Browns S Ronnie Harrison (ankle) and DE Jadeveon Clowney (illness) are active for today’s game against the Chiefs

Browns DE Jadeveon Clowney (illness) and S Ronnie Harrison (ankle) are questionable or Sunday's opener against the Chiefs. Clowney missed practice Wednesday and Thursday but returned to a limited Friday workout. Harrison closed out the week with a full Friday workout after being limited Wednesday and Thursday. We'll check the status of both players Sunday morning.

Browns LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah missed Sunday night's preseason finale because of a "freak" weightlifting accident that left him with a gash in his forehead, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. The rookie needed stitches, then missed the rest of the practice week and the exhibition because he couldn't wear a helmet over the injury. Cabot believes JOK still has a shot at starting the regular-season opener against the Chiefs because of the athletic ability he has showed in camp and preseason. We have yet to see Owusu-Koramoah work in that role yet, though. For now, he's a late stash in deeper IDP drafts, with big upside.

The Browns have placed rookie LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on the COVID list. That, of course, could mean a positive test or a high-risk exposure. We'll see how long the designation keeps the 2nd-rounder out and whether we should expect any lingering impact.

12:01pm EST 1/2/21

Browns CB Denzel Ward landed on the COVID list this week, and Cleveland.com reports that he tested positive. That means Ward will not only miss Sunday's game against the Steelers but might also not be back in time for a playoff opener next weekend. We'll see about his status for that contest next week.

The forecast for today's Bengals-Browns game calls for 1-3 inches of snow and winds of 10-20 mph. We start to worry about the passing games when winds get over 15 mph, so this is a slight concern. Both teams figured to go run-heavy anyway, and the weather will only push them farther in that direction.

The forecast for today's Steelers-Browns game calls for a 30% chance of snow with winds of 27-29 mph and gusts up to 40. That wind is a significant concern. We'd avoid both kickers and downgrade the passing games, especially the guys who rely on downfield stuff. Bang it here for updated projections for the Steelers and Browns.
