Giants cut Cole Beasley (for now)

        8:41pm UTC 8/29/23

The Giants released WR Cole Beasley. NFL Network's Mike Garofolo tweeted that Beasley is "expected to stick around," so it sounds like he'll land on the Giants' practice squad. Regardless, he's well off the fantasy radar.

        Cole Beasley joins Giants

        2:39pm UTC 7/21/23

The Giants aren't done adding slot receivers. They've signed WR Cole Beasley, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Beasley joins Parris Campbell, Wan'Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepard, and Jamison Crowder as primary slot receivers on New York's roster. We'll see about the details on Beasley's contract, but it probably won't be enough to guarantee him a roster spot. It's worth noting that he's reuniting with HC Brian Daboll, who was Beasley's OC in Buffalo from 2019-2021.

        McKenzie INACTIVE

        11:33am UTC 1/15/23

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie (hamstring) is inactive for today's Wild Card game vs. the Dolphins. That leaves WRs Cole Beasley, Khalil Shakir and John Brown behind Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis. Beasley is the most natural fill-in for McKenzie's slot role.

        McKenzie questionable vs. Dolphins

        6:45pm UTC 1/13/23

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie (hamstring) didn't practice again on Friday and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Dolphins. Should McKenzie miss this contest, WRs Cole Beasley and Khalil Shakir could see a bump in opportunity running slot routes. The Dolphins' primary slot CB Kader Kohou has allowed 50+ yards to opposing WRs in 3 of the team's last 5 contests. Something to consider for fantasy managers participating in playoff contests/formats.

        McKenzie DNP on Thursday

        9:07pm UTC 1/12/23

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie (hamstring) was downgraded to missing practice on Thursday after logging limited participation the day before. It'll be interesting to see if McKenzie can ramp up activity Friday or else he may be in danger of missing Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Dolphins. Should he sit, WRs Khalil Shakir and Cole Beasley could see a boost in responsibility running out of the slot. We'll keep everyone posted as more information becomes available.

        Beasley elevated for Week 15

        7:52pm UTC 12/17/22

Bills WR Cole Beasley was elevated from the practice squad for tonight's game vs. the Dolphins. We'll see how big a role he plays in his first game back with Buffalo, but he's nothing more than a flier in 1-game DFS contests.

        Beasley back to Buffalo

        8:17am UTC 12/13/22

WR Cole Beasley is coming out of retirement to re-join the Bills, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. Beasley is 33 now but remained effective as a short-range slot receiver for Buffalo last season, tallying an 82-693-1 line across 16 games. He'll join the practice squad for now but figures to be elevated to the active roster soon. We'll see if he's ready to play vs. the Dolphins on Saturday night. Beasley would be a desperation fantasy play at this point of the season, but his return is bad news for WR Isaiah McKenzie and TE Dawson Knox.

        Beasley retires

        12:26pm UTC 10/5/22

WR Cole Beasley is retiring, his agents tell NFL Network. The 33-year-old signed with the Bucs a couple of weeks ago but played just 13 snaps over the last 2 games. Beasley finishes an 11-year NFL career with 554 catches, 5,726 yards and 34 TDs.

        Beasley elevated for Sunday

        4:40pm UTC 10/1/22

The Buccaneers have promoted WR Cole Beasley from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Tampa Bay will get WR Mike Evans back from last week's suspension, but WR Breshad Perriman is doubtful. Russell Gage, Chris Godwin and Julio Jones are all questionable. We'll see which guys suit up. Don't bet on fantasy relevance for Beasley in Week 4.

        Bucs promoting Beasley

        1:05pm UTC 9/24/22

The Buccaneers are moving WR Cole Beasley up from the practice squad to the roster. That points to him likely playing Sunday against the Packers. We'd hold off on using the slot receiver in fantasy football lineups, though, without seeing what his role will look like.

        Beasley could play Week 3?

        1:30pm UTC 9/23/22

Bucs HC Todd Bowles is confident that WR Cole Beasley could play vs. the Packers on Sunday, just 5 days after joining the team. "He's quick, catches up to speed real fast," Bowles said. "He understands the system and he's played and gotten a lot of reps under him." We'll see if Beasley is promoted from the practice squad and active on Sunday, but he'd be nothing more than a DFS tournament flier.

        Bucs adding Beasley

        8:50am UTC 9/20/22

The Buccaneers are signing WR Cole Beasley to their practice squad, with the expectation he is soon elevated to the active roster, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. The Bucs have been dealing with multiple WR injuries and will miss WR Mike Evans for a game after his suspension for a Week 2 fight. We'll see whether Beasley can get onto the roster in time for Week 3. We'll also see exactly who else is available at the position once he does make a game-day roster. Beasley will need some help to reach fantasy relevance.

        Bills release Beasley

        12:21pm UTC 3/17/22

The Bills are releasing WR Cole Beasley, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, saving a little over $6 million against the 2022 cap. That leaves Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis and Isaiah McKenzie as the team's top 3 WRs currently. We'll see what else they do at the position in free agency and the draft. Buffalo signed TE O.J. Howard on Wednesday, so we could see more 2-TE sets with Howard and Dawson Knox this season.

        McKenzie re-signs with Bills

        6:00pm UTC 3/13/22

The Bills on Sunday announced that they’ve re-signed WR Isaiah McKenzie on 2-year, $8 million deal. McKenzie caught just 20 passes last year and has yet to top 30 receptions in a season. But he carries upside well beyond that if he can wrest the primary slot job from Cole Beasley, a rumored cut candidate

        Bills might deal Beasley

        1:40pm UTC 3/4/22

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Bills have allowed WR Cole Beasley to seek a trade. Coming off back to back 82-catch seasons, Garafolo reported that “there is interest” in the 33-year-old slot target. GM Brandon Beane said “no door has been closed,” so it’s not a lock that Beasley plays elsewhere in 2022. Ultimately, we’d be shocked if Buffalo netted anything more than a late-round pick in a potential deal. According to Spotrac, Beasley’s slated to count $7.6 million against the cap in 2022 — a contract year.

        Beasley back for 2022?

        1:35pm UTC 1/28/22

Bills beat writer Joe Buscaglia believes it’s “likely” WR Cole Beasley returns to Buffalo next season. Buscaglia even believes Beasley could return “to a more prominent role.” Beasley caught 82 balls for the 2nd straight season but scored just once and notched a laughable 8.5 YPC. The veteran has 1 year left on his deal, although Buffalo can save ~$6 million with his release. Said GM Brandon Beane: “I didn’t sit down with Cole at the end [of the season] and see where he was at and things like that, but yeah, I would anticipate Cole being back.” With Emmanuel Sanders and Isaiah McKenzie slated for free agency, look for Buffalo to add some young talent to this position.

Beasley, Davis back from COVID list

        10:40am UTC 12/29/21

The Bills have activated WRs Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis from the COVID list, taking advantage of the altered league protocol. They'll get a high-ceiling matchup with the Falcons on Sunday but also face plenty of target competition. We'd bet on Beasley reclaiming his slot gig. Davis will have to deal with Emmanuel Sanders, who returned last Sunday after missing Week 15.

Bills put Beasley on COVID list

        4:15pm UTC 12/21/21

The Bills on Tuesday placed WR Cole Beasley on the COVID list. Beasley, of course, was vocally opposed to getting vaccinated over the summer, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has confirmed that Beasley will miss at least 10 days. So he's out for Sunday's game at New England. Isaiah McKenzie will likely take over his role in the slot.
