        Germaine Pratt a Surprise Inactive

        4:05pm UTC 10/5/25

The Raiders made LB Germaine Pratt inactive for today's game against the Colts, despite no injury designation throughout the week. Unless there was some pregame injury that hasn't been widely reported yet, this looks like a healthy scratch and a signal Pratt's losing his starting gig. That should mean more playing time for LB Elandon Roberts -- and perhaps safety-turned-LB Jamal Adams -- with Devin White continuing to lead the group.

Titans Add Jamal Adams; Should You?

        3:07pm UTC 7/11/24

The Titans have agreed to a one-year contract with S Jamal Adams, according to multiple sources. Adams spent the past four seasons with the Seahawks, who released him earlier this offseason.

        Devon Witherspoon, Jamal Adams out

        6:48pm UTC 12/18/23

Seahawks CB Devon Witherspoon (hip) and S Jamal Adams (knee) are inactive for tonight's game against the Eagles. That leaves Seattle's secondary without a pair of starters vs. one of the league's best WR duos and TE Dallas Goedert. Unless Philly QB Jalen Hurts is limited by his illness -- or the team goes run-heavy -- it should be a fine-to-good night for the Eagles' passing game.

Seahawks could miss Devon Witherspoon, Jamal Adams vs. Eagles

        12:39pm UTC 12/17/23

The Seahawks list CB Devon Witherspoon (hip) and S Jamal Adams (knee) as questionable for Monday night's game against the Eagles. Each guy missed the entire practice week, though. HC Pete Carroll told reporters he's "hoping" Witherspoon will play. But he gave no further indication of how likely Witherspoon or Adams is to play. if you'd be left with an empty lineup spot, then you should probably go another direction with your IDP lineup today. We'll update both players ahead of Monday's game.

        Jamal Adams OUT vs. Rams

        3:19pm UTC 11/19/23

Seahawks S Jamal Adams (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Rams. That should mean starter-level playing time for S Julian Love. We've dumped Adams from the Week 11 DB rankings and given Love a big boost.

        Jamal Adams sustains concussion

        8:44pm UTC 10/2/23

Seahawks S Jamal Adams left just a few plays into his return game against the Giants on Monday night with a concussion. It was Adams' first action since he suffered a quad tear in Week 1 of last season. Frankly, it was his own fault. Adams went stupidly low with a tackle attempt on a running Daniel Jones and took a knee to the top of his head. That will likely keep Adams out for Week 5, but we'll watch his progress through the league protocol.

Seahawks S Julian Love (hamstring) and S Quandre Diggs (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Panthers. S Jamal Adams is inactive. Expect him to make his season debut in Week 4 after returning to practice the past two weeks.

Jamal Adams returning to practice, not ready for games

        5:34pm UTC 9/12/23

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Monday that S Jamal Adams will return to limited practice participation this week for the first time since tearing a quad muscle in last year's opener. “Let’s take it one day at a time,” Carroll said, per Pro Football Talk. “He’s going to have a limited amount of plays as he gets back and re-enters, but he’ll get individual work and start getting some of the basic stuff just to get him back out there.” It's too early to say when Adams will be ready for game action. But Seattle elected to activate him from the PUP before the season started. That indicates they expect him back by at least Week 4. Julian Love started in Adams' place against the Rams and remains an IDP option until Adams is ready. We'll see about Love's role beyond that.

        Seahawks waiting for injured stars

        8:47am UTC 6/2/23

It's no surprise that Seahawks S Jamal Adams and LB Jordyn Brooks have not participated in OTAs. Each is coming off a 2022 leg injury, and HC Pete Carroll said Thursday that it'll be a while before we know when to expect either player back. "We don't have time frames," he said, according to The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar. "We won't really know for another good six weeks, eight weeks or something like that. ... They've got their eyes set on getting back and getting ready to go for the season. Whether they can make it, we'll find out." You can tell by our 2023 IDP rankings that we're not betting on Brooks being ready early in the season. He tore his right ACL in Week 17 and doesn't seem like a good bet to return to full strength at any point in 2023. Adams sustained a far less common quad tendon injury in Week 1. That timeline would seem to indicate he has a much better shot than Brooks at being ready by September. But the fact that Carroll is addressing their returns similarly says you should be cautious with your Adams expectations. He sits conservatively in DB3 territory of our IDP rankings.

        Report: Adams done for season

        3:20pm UTC 9/15/22

ESPN's Brady Henderson reports that Seahawks S Jamal Adams will miss the rest of the season with what Henderson calls an injury to the quadriceps tendon in Adams' left leg. The veteran is set for surgery. We'll see about further details of the injury and the expected return timeline. Josh Jones is the next man up at safety for Seattle.

        Adams headed for surgery

        11:20am UTC 9/15/22

Seahawks S Jamal Adams will need surgery on his left knee after suffering an injury in Monday night's opener that reportedly included quad damage. HC Pete Carroll confirmed that Tuesday, though the extent of Adams' injury and expected return timeline is not yet clear. S Josh Jones will fill in and should present some tackle upside for deeper IDP leagues. Jones flashed in the past as a tackle collector with the Packers but didn't play well enough in coverage to keep a starting gig anywhere.

        Adams injures left knee

        9:00pm UTC 9/12/22

Seahawks S Jamal Adams left in the 2nd quarter of Monday night's game against the Broncos after injuring his left knee. Adams went from the sideline to the locker room on the cart, and ESPN reported that he was clearly upset. The team called him doubtful to return. We'll see about the diagnosis.

Adams to play through broken finger

        7:50am UTC 7/30/22

Seahawks S Jamal Adams broke a finger on the 1st day of training camp. After getting multiple opinions, he'll return to practice with a "special cast" and a club on the hand, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's also "likely" that Adams will need surgery after the season. We'd bet on Adams not being hampered overall by the finger, though playing with a club necessarily makes intercepting passes more difficult. Adams will certainly remain draftable in IDP leagues but doesn't stand out as a target in our DB rankings.

        Adams done for season

        7:30am UTC 12/8/21

Seahawks S Jamal Adams will need season-ending shoulder surgery. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Adams tore the labrum in his left shoulder Sunday and "suffered additional damage." It's the same shoulder in which Adams tore the labrum last year and required surgery. Rapoport says Adams is expected to fully recover ahead of the 2022 campaign. Ryan Neal filled in for Adams against the 49ers and looks like the replacement going forward.
